Dr. Brinda Vallat received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. She moved to the US in 2006 and continued her postdoctoral research in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics, where she worked on developing methods for modeling and analysis of biomolecular structures. In 2015, she joined Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, as a research associate. She is currently an Assistant Research Professor at the Institute for Quantitative Biomedicine at Rutgers and is a member of the RCSB Protein Data Bank. Her current research aims at building tools for data standardization, curation, validation and archiving. Since 2015, she has been working on creating the infrastructure for archiving integrative structures of biological macromolecules through a prototype system called PDB-Dev
